Sea moss Gel has no preservatives so 3 weeks in a fridge is Ideal. It can last longer in colder temperatures such as in the a freezer. Dry sea moss can last up to a year if dried properly and kept in a dry area throughout.

If you mix real fruit with Gel it should be consumed immediately usually within a couple of days. Due to no preservatives and the constant exchange of air the fruit will begin to ferment and the gel with start to deteriorate and allow for more bacteria to develop quicker. It's best to just add a gel blend to you smoothie separate when ready to preserve the longevity of the sea moss itself. Always use a separate and clean utensil with gel so you don't drop any additional liquid or fruit in the gel and introduce bacteria.
Any sea moss that has been heat treated (dehydrated or cooked) if you have a Carrageenan based Sea moss like Eucheuma or Chondrus Crispus. Gracilaria is agar based and there are no studies found to show which method is best for consumption whether it be heat or soaked based methods.

No! Contrary to some beliefs sea moss will latch(holdfast) to whatever it can so it can stabilize itself so it doesn't float around in the ocean. Kind of like an anchor. So ropes, bottles, rocks, or shells are just places for it to latch on. Algae is porous. Utilizing photosynthesis to absorb what it needs from the sun and the surrounding waters.
